Solothurn Classics Festival
Some pictures from this magical evening at the Solothurn Classics festival.
The concept of this evening was : one singer (student) from each Swiss Music School was sent to represent the school and Canton he comes from. The occasion for me to meet nice and talented colleagues with whom I had great pleasure to sing -the Cenerentola Quartet for instance).
We also had several soli, mine being : "L'invitation au voyage" (Duparc) and "Je ne t'aime pas (Kurt Weill). All this under the lead of the pianist Paul Suits : patient, kind and very professional (thank you so much!).
I am proud and happy to have been chosen to represent my school, Hemu of Lausanne.
After few rehearsals, we were able to give a good quality concert, and I can tell that Switzerland has definitely wonderful singers in its schools !
Newspapers wrote (in german) : "A moment of exception was the Cenerentola of Rossini. A special reverence/tribute to the italian singer Marina Viotti. In the young mezzo-soprano with a rich and sensual voice (Je ne t'aime pas from Kurt Weill) we could hear a future star for sure."
The same newspaper gave me as negative critic my outfit. Maybe yes. I let you decide.
